86 bronco ll
Good morning,
A friend of mine has offered me his dads 86 bronco ll for the taking.
He says that it developed very low oil pressure, and he believes it could be the cam bearings have worn.
It still runs.
It looks very nice, and has 80k miles on it, with about 40k of them being towed miles.
Is this a worth while project?
Can I get away with just replacing the cam, and bearings?
Is this a normal problem?
Thanks for the help.:navajo::thumbsup::thumbsup:

noisey valve train

So this 86 bronco ll I have been given runs, but the top end, valve train of the v-6 sounds like it is getting no lubrication.
A friend said that it is most likely coked up and to drain the oil and replace it with ATF to break the coking loose.
He also said to put a direct reading oil gauge in place of the pressure unit.
Is there any harm in running ATF in the engine, or should I be using some other type of lube?
It is a real cream puff of a rig, and will be just right for my boy who just got out of the peace corp to run.

Thanks Jay
