I just boguht the darn thing, i am an mechanic but i'm still going to ask you guys this since it might be something that happens more on these explorers, and before i tear ebeything down , it might be something simple.

It seems that the Low Range won't engage, the 4X4 works fine ti just won't go into low range...

maybe it's just something these explorers encounter ?

welcome, is the light coming on??

nope...light isn't coming on.....i thought first it was an light that was out, so i engaged it and drove with it, but ti stays the same, it won;t engage at all....

hi welcome. i noticed you just bought it. do you know that to engage it you must be stopped, in 4wheeldrive and be in nuetral. if the above 3 are all not met then it wont shift into low

heh...thx dude...i thought i tried everything.....except for the nuetral part...heh...ooh well we all got to learn...now i'm realy happy i asked you guys.

As you have noticed i just bought the 4X4 and never had one...so you can see i'm pretty new to all this.

btw anyone of you ever had an problem with the power-door locks ?...both sides don't work, i used the multimeter, but the switches and all fuses seem to be in working order....i just find it strange that if the solenoids where to be broken they all are broke.....?

and those solenoides are not hard to replace, but it's just an pain staking work...heh...

no problem glad i could help. i dont know about the door lock problem though, sorry
