low range

i have a 94 sport, the thing is my low range wont work. I cant tell if it is just not engaging or completely not there. The light next to the low range button does not turn on or the low range writing on the dash. anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like your shift motor gave up. Fairly common with electric shift. Do a search for manual shift conversion. That would be your best solution instead of just replacing the motors.

4 wheel drive still works..... low range just wont engage

There's one shift motor for 4x4 and one for low range.

There's only one shift motor on the outside of the transfer case. they can get dirty causing it not to shift but the motor can be cleaned. do a search you'll find alot of information.
