Had my front hubs replaced... Now... when I put it in gear and start to drive a cpl mile an hr (or stopped completely) and turn the wheel... the steering wheel shakes/shutters in my hand... I have not had a chance to drive it at any kind of speed... But when it got dropped off (it was being worked on at my wifes mom's mechanic shop by her step dad) by my wifes mother she said it drove fine...

Ideas? Hubs not torqued properly? Something new?

It's a 2000 Xploder, 4 door, XLT, with the 5.0L, auto tranny.

BEFORE having the hubs replaced there was no shudder/shake at all at any speed (or stopped).

sounds like air in power steering.
bleed power steering.

yea! I go with a power steering bleed too.

with tighter hubs may be dragging on the pump

Definitely air in ps system, very common.

The air in the ps system also cause, what appears to be, funky noise in the power steering pump? I drove it a short distance and, turning or going straight, low speed, the power steering pump was noisy. ?

yes

Ok... It seemed to have been "nothing"... a cpl days later the problem is completely gone.. I was about to bleed the PS system and such and that day... No sound... No stutter... drives smooth as butter... So... Craziness, lol. Thanks!

this happened to me after my 3"bl lift and went right away after driveing it alittle, but the steering was tighter..

the steering being tighter after the body lift just seems normal to me.
mine has done the same thing. the re-aligning of the steering components is in order to help with this.

the steering was put on and aligned at the factory with the body on it's mounts. now all the angles have changed, but the steering components are still in the same place.

soon as we get a break in the weather out here on the east coast I want to go over my steering setup again just to be sure nothing has changed for the worst.
