Lower Front bumper replacement.

Got a fairly simple question about a replacement front bumper piece.

I have a 98 xlt with the fog lights up front. I was wondering if anyone makes a steel replacement for the standard plastic piece down there (the plastic part, underneath the steel bumper, that has the foglights in it). Last winter, I cracked this flimsy piece of plastic on a snow mound. I replaced it no problem, but now I am always worried about smackin into something and having to replace the darn thing again. Anyone know of an aftermarket replacement that is made of steel instead of plastic? Thanks alot

That's actually called an airdam. I don't know of any steel peices, but there are some different aftermarket ones available. I think they're either plastic or fiberglass.

I broke mine a while back, and had been unhappy with the stock foglights anyway. So I put some aftermarket fogs in the bumper and got rid of the airdam altogether. I think if you want to keep an airdam, you'll just have to be careful and try not to hit anything too hard with it.
