lower intake manifold gasket direction.

I know this is a stupid question, but which way does the lower intake manifold face? is the cutout go towards the front or back? likewise, does the hole in the gasket have to be oriented towards the front or back....or does it matter?

It will only go on one way. If you have it backwards the holes for the Intake bolts do not line up, assuming you have the one piece gasket.

I can't picture teh problem you are having . It just seemed intuative how it went on for me. Make sure to put lots of RTV where the Heads meet the Block And around the Water passage by the Temp sensor. 18 ft lbs torque on install.
