Hi great site!!! I have a problem with my 2002 explorer xlt. I lowered it with ground force springs. I had a wheel alignment done and everything is in spec. But when i hit a bump or uneven road i get a nasty bump steer. Anyone come across this problem on a 3rd gen lowered.. Thanks

I just bought those for my 02 XLT, should I wait to install and see what your findings are?

Could it be shocks? How many miles do you have on the existing shocks?

so far no luck. Had a few shops look at it and see no problem with the truck. All they sasy is take the springs out. Help please...

The is a member Naples Bill that has these springs with no problem. I am installing mine over the weekend. What did they charge you to do the install?

i installed my own. I had it checked at three diffrent shops all say everything is good. Mine settled a little over 2". Hopefully i will figure it out. Keep me posted!

I have the GF springs on my '02 XLT. Works fine with 17" Cobra wheels and 275/55/17 tires.

whats your camber settings at? the best they could get it at is -1.2.

2nd that on pics!!

Probably hitting your bumpstops. Did you trim those? Otherwise I'd say it's the ball joints.

No i didnt trim the bumpstops. Guess ill give that a try. How do i post a pic?

Just installed my GF 1.6 springs in my 02 xlt v8. . No banging. Rides better than before. No body roll. I also changed the Shocks, I had 95K miles on them(Only available were stock). Had an alignment and that's it.

Hey Guys,

When you lowered the X, did you need the camber kits that I have seen?

I did not need a camber kit. About a month now, 2000 Miles no adverse tire wear.....
