I had my x at the dealer today to have the front end alignment done. I got to talking with the tech and told him about the rear ride height problem i've been having. The back end on one side of my x is lower than the other. He said that it probably was a weak spring since i've been towing alot lately. He said nothing really i can do except to replace the spring(which is what everyone here already told me). I also pointed out that the front end sat alot higher than the rear and i thought it looked bad so he said "no problem". He lowered the front end by adjusting the torsion bars which corrected all of my ride height problems, and made the truck look ALOT better. Afterwards he did my alignment and it is dead on now. So, my question is....will having my front end lowered (about 1inch) hurt anything? I have an AWD x so i wasn't sure if there would be anything for me to worry about, or keep my eye on??? Now both sides of my front end from the ground up to the center of the wheel well measure 33.5inches. The rear measures 32.5inches. I"m really happy with the look now but i want to make sure that lowering it did not, or will not hurt anything? How do my measurements compare to your x's?

The front end lowering will not hurt anything.

Did he install camber adjusters when he aligned the front?

Here is a thread about lowering my '99, it includes measurements.....Dead Link Removed

only going down an inch it MAY have not needed them. right around an inch is the grey area were you may or may not need them to get it aligned.

about 2 weeks ago, i dropped the front of my truck about 3/4" (on both the driver and passenger sides) to correct the "rear end sag" issue. i got an alinement the next day, just because it was due for it anyway, and the timing worked out nicely. i get my truck aligned once a year, and the tech at the shop i go to said that it wasnt that far out of alignment, though, i dont know if it was really bad before i adjusted the torsion bars or not. i didnt need any special adjusters, and, no, lowering it an inch will not ruin anything.

I needed camber adjusters for a 1 1/2 inch drop.

If I hear another word about these damn camber adjusters I'm gonna scream. THEY ARE NOT NECCESSARY.

Pitch whatever fit your so desire but they were necessary for me ( and many others ).

hey tbomb.. notice any handling improvemtns? im thinkin of fixing my sag too.. the rear sits 7/10 of an inch lower.. so maybe just lower the front an inch.. to compensate for future sagging.. lol.. eventually the rear should go down and level right? :D
