I am planning on lowering my 99 XLT with some lowering blocks from summit racing (kit) I noticed that explorer express sells a kit that drops 1-3/8". Can I lower this using 1.5" blocks and still maintain near stock ride? I also saw that the U-bolts offered are either 3" or 3.25". What is the official diameter of the axle tube? Thanks

1.5 won't effect the ride at all, get the 31/4 u-bolts

Thanks, appreciate the info. After a little re-evaluation, I think I'll only drop about an inch. If I hit those bump stops my wife will have a fit. What brand camber adjusters should I use?

Get the EE Kit, you won't be anywhere near the bumpstops, with a 1.5 inch drop, you may not even need camber adjusters

When I lowered mine via the EE kit I loved the handling , however, after a while the ride quality was so abysmal, I had to do something. I ended up raising it back to stock height. And you know what, I really couldn't tell much difference in handling. The key to the handling, in my opinion, is the EE sway bar.

Good luck ....

I was trying to get a little more agressive look more than anything. Thanks guys.
