2002 Sport Trac
Hey there,

I'm sure this is well tread, but I'm looking to lower the rear of my 02 Sport Trac (production date of 2/02) just an inch or two. However, I can seem to find any blocks that SAY the fit my model. Could anybody give me a good lead on where I might purchase a pair?

Sorry for the lame post.

Thank you

Jon

I don't have coil springs, they are leaf. I know mid 2002 they changed some things on the Sport Tracs, moving from leaf to coil springs may have been one of them. But they are definitely leaf springs. Man. date was 02/02.

I've purchased and installed rear lowering blocks on several vehicles. They're pretty generic (not vehicle specific) other than the u-bolts. The blocks have a hole in the bottom to engage the leaf spring pin and a pin on the top to engage the perch on the diff axle. They also come with longer u-bolts.

The only difference I've ever seen in the lowering block kits is the diameter and type (round or square) of the u-bolts. As stated the Ford 8.8 axle tubes are 3.25 inches and (IIRC) use a round u-bolt.

Understood OP. Mentioned because the "Seriously Lowered" sub forum includes ALL Explorer years.

2002-05 (Gen 3) four-doors have entirely different suspensions from Gen 2 that often causes confusion.

Thanks guys, it doesn't look like there will be an all in one kit out there that will fit, so I'll piece it together.

Thanks again,

Up the Irons!

Dealer is the same outfit (AirBagit, ChassisTech, AIM Industries) has been around a while, but hasn't always had the best reputation here. Seems they have products and prices that can't be found anywhere else, and can often be found on eBay.

I used Ranger lift blocks on my 96 Explorer when I lowered it. Real good and strong. Found them in the junkyard laying on the ground since the rear end had been sold. I got u bolts from Napa.
