I am a frequent member of a couple of Forums and I remember reading something about adding another clutch disk when doing a LSD rebuilt. Has any one here done this, and is there much benefit? I am thinking of rebuilding the one in my mounty. Also Is the rebuild kit from ford ok to use or is there a better brand? Thanks:salute:

Yes it is no big deal to do, I did my 93 Limited LSD that way. It takes an extra pair of frictions to do, so an extra kit has to be bought. The stock clutches have pairs of steels together, they all need to alternate friction/steel etc.

The extra clutches made it last a little longer, it's no major thing. I don't know of other brands being any better than the Ford parts. Good luck,
