99 North Face UK Spec
I bought some of this for another car & have a bottle spare & want to know if it is compatable with my (New to me) 99 North Face UK spec car or not please.

Also what transmission fluid do you recommend that I use, I don't know what is in it currently and it has done 118K miles.

Thanks.

Lucas Tranny fix is compatible, and if your vehicle is the same as the American version, it should use Mercon V.

Thank you!
I'm not sure if we can get Mercon V in the UK, we seem to use Dexron 2 or Dexron 3 in our Auto 4x4's so I will investigate & see if it is the same thing & maybe speak to the dealer if I have to.

Good to know I can use the Lucas up as I also need to get an additional gearbox cooler fitted for towing so anything that helps keep the gearbox sweet works for me.

transmission - Automatic 4R70W (2WD and AWD) | 13.2L (13.9 qts) | manual calls for Motorcraft MERCON ATF, Ford part # XT-2-QDX, Ford Specification Mercon.

I don't think I've ever seen that lucas around here.

IMHO, I would go with standard Mercon and add a bottle of Lubeguard. There are 2 versions, red or green. Not sure which you would need, but a quick check of their website will tell you. Forgive me, trash the Lucas. Don't believe me, then check out a great website called: Bobstheoilguy. Shade tree mechanics take on research engineers from the oil companies. Find out which solvents/lubes work. Not many. Lubeguard for trannies is best bet.f Have fun.
