Here's how to fix both power and manual lumbar supports in these vehicles. Access to repair these is quite difficult, includes removal of the seat and seat back upholstery.
Power Driver Side
This is a Schukra 2016801 actuator:
Very common for these to have broken planetary gears like this:
Replacement brass gears and a stronger drive wheel can be found here: Upgraded Lumbar Support Parts for Schukra Units Here's how they look installed:
Strengthen the single rivet attachment point with a couple of cable ties, this area can break also and lead to failure
Manual Passenger Side
Get one of these Ford 7L2Z-7865500-C parts described in TSB 07-7-3:
