Im thinking about getting an M68 supercharger from a Nissan Frontier / Xterra, and just wanted to know how much psi they put out...and is it safe for a stock bottom end?

Find out what the boost is in the Nissan, and the two pulley sizes used. With that and the size of that engine versus your 4.0, you can come up with accurate boost comparisons.

If your engine had identical pulley ratios as the Nissan truck, and the Nissan was a 4.0, the boost would be similar. You use those specs to get close approximations of boost. How close the estimates end up will be decided by how close the compression ratios are. You have about a 9.0:1 engine.

makes sense...i just wanted to see if anybody did this mod off-hand and measured the boost with a gauge. but anyhow, i have 95tm heads that are 10.0:1 compression and was planning on getting them milled to make more compression. but if its not safe with the stock bottom end im not going to get them milled.

i know people have done this mod with the supercharger, but i dont know if they had my type of heads and what other mods they have.

Increasing the compression ratio, like you're thinking, will make things risky. The tuning window get's smaller and smaller and the chances of detonation increase.

Ditto, 9.0:1 is a safe place to start boosting, getting up above 9.5:1 is harder to do, and the maximum boost drops fast there. That's why adding boost to a GM is so rare, they have high compression already. Unless you have a good plan for keeping the trans alive, don't get too complicated. For the difficulty and cost of some supercharged combinations, you might do better to go V8.
