I have a 4.0 liter. The rpms bounce around at idle.I just pulled a MAF sensor code and proceeded to replace the sensor. After a few start ups the check gauge light turned off and I thought all was fine. Until I started it up again, and on came the light. Now the rpms continue to bounce. Is it possible that something other than the MAF sensor could send this code?

Clean up and tune up......

IMHO, may I suggest a complete tune up. Include the: air filter, motor flush and re-fill w/oil and new filter, fuel filter, pcv, cooling system flush and re-fill w/ new coolant, plugs and wires, run some sea foam, and don't forget the fuel system cleaner added to the fuel.

IF......some stuff was already done (recently), forget about it, and move on.

Clean the MAF and IAC……it’s a little more involved:

Check for codes. Get a “base” to work off of.
