Allows more airflow through your intake system. More airflow=more power. if you upgrade your MAF you should also (ideally) upgrade your filter, intake tube and throttle body, although even just going to a larger MAF will improve flow a little bit.

Be aware that you're just wanting the MAF housing and will be swapping the 4.0l MAF sensor into the larger housing. Having said that, you are mainly looking for 4.6l & 5.0l T-Birds & Mustangs. I got mine from a 3.8l Windstar, but I haven't heard of anyone else getting their housing from one.
