sounds nice and mean

Yup, not working:( Guess I'll check it out in the morning. Any chance of you making it to the strip this year?

Edit- Third times the charm:D Saw it worked for Sam so I reloaded it again! Tell you what, when the snow thaws here, I'll do a 0-120mph to compare with yours? That's if I can hit 120mph:D Good luck and be safe!

safe is the name of the game. my straight away is actualy a closed down airfield (has the white X's on the whole thing, so no air traffic), its roughly 1.25 miles long, and it just about perfect for cutting lose with all sorts of things), and we block the access road with another vehicle before we make our pulls. right now there is about 6 inches of snow on her, and while i can deffinately hit 120 with that, im worried about traction for both controll and breaking needs. I have NO doubt your rig will do 120 limited, just might not be as fast as mine. im the the works of enlistment and im pretty sure a set of trick flow heads with high rise crower stage 2 cams are in the works in the next year or so. and shortly after a KB supercharger if i can spring the moneys.

I will deffinately be heading to the track this year also, my friend picked up a 96 cobra and were going to square off.

What size magnaflow do you have ?

I.E. Physical demention's... i wanna try magnaflow on my new X

i heard more road noise than anything else...could you post a vid of the truck at idle with a little rev?

CALDWELL
5 x 8 x 24 in. Muffler, 2.5 in. Tubing

the part number is 15718 for both the V8 and the V6 explorer. this is the magnaflow catback kit. i got mine of ebay for like 650 (came with my K&N too for that price) so its not to expensive. did you have flowmasters on your old one? i dont remember..

JawzSS, i have a headset for speakers and i hear mostly exhaust. UPDATE: I couldnt resist so a friend of mine and I went out and did some exhaust video a few minutes ago, video link is in #1 post.

I had a Custom CBE with a ( FM Delta Flow 40 Series )

it was fairly loud, but i didnt mind in the least bit...

i upgraded from an 03 XLS to an 05 XLT, so its a bit nicer, an has all the features i wanted...

with that in mind i wanted to buy a muffler that was a little bit quieter this time, plus it will allow me to compare different brands...

also could you look at this muffler ?

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=8105

can i use this if i just flip the muffler over, so the offset is on the correct side ?

"All mufflers are reversible for custom installation." lol so yeah you should be ok =P

Fantastic...

i might just have to go back to the exhaust shop for an estimate...

i spent more money last time, because i did the exhaust in 2 sepereate vsits...

1. muffler install...

2. 4 months later had the larger pipe put in...

why the larger pipe? With the 4.0 I'd stick with the stocker to try and maintane some back pressure.. Need that for low end tq. Unless you go fi.

i had 2.5'' pipe, and yes i did lose some low end, but not an amazing amount of it...

i was thinking about just replacing the muffler, and droping the resonator, and dropping the tiny muffler looking thing thats after the rear axle...

and call it a day...

the magnaflow catback KIT will do all of that, and you can get it fairly priced at ebay and install yourself in about an hour.

i guess im going to be saving money now lol...

im going to take your advice and stick with the factory 2.25'' pipe...

dropping the resonator, then replacing the muffler, and dropping the mini muffler thing on the end... either way the exhaust will still flow better, than betting all backed up...

plus i will still gain some MPG...
