I have been having a mojor vibration problem. It becomes noticable at about 50km/h and horrible at 80 or so, as long as I am accelerating. If I don't accelerate, it goes down or away.

I had 2 front axle U joints replaced because they were very loose. On my way to the shop to have them replaced, I noticed that there was no vibration.

The vibration stayed away for 2-3 days, but is back now as bad as ever.

The rear driveshaft U joints seem to be solid is it possible that one be seizing, causing this vibration, or am I looking in the totally wrong direction?

Thanks.

I would replace the rear driveshaft u-joints next. When I was having simular problems on my '91, I went to a heavier duty, greasable u-joint that I got from NAPA. Vibration went away. Good Luck.

Its possible for the grease in the u-joints to dissapear and allow the needles to rust and bind the joint. This will cause a serious vibration. If they haven't been replaced its likely time.
