Ok heres the story,
There is coolant leaking down the left side of the block, and running down the oil pan. I checked all the hoses, and all appear ok. The leak appears to be coming from the block somewhere, but im not sure EXACLTY where, but it looks to be coming from below the upper heater hose, towards the front. The upper heater hose, as well as upper radiator hose have recently been replaced. Could this be the head gasket?? Im hoping it isnt, but prepared for the worst. The funny thing is i had to get it home, so i filled it up with water, and drove 20 miles home. The truck runs perfectly, no misses, no hesitaion, nothing. And heres the wierd thing. Now that im home, it doesnt appear to be leaking anymore. Everything appears dry. Any suggestions or best guesses???? All, and i mean ALL help is appreciated.

Driver side or passenger side ("left" from what perspective?)

Have you checked the heater control valve?

Left as in looking down on the engine from the front of the truck. And no i havent considered the heater control valve. I may be mistaken, but isnt that towards the back of the engine??

The weridest thing just happend. The truck hanst leaked a drop since ive had it home. None. I have no idea whats going on. HELP!

ARe you sure a 91-94 has a Heater Control Valve? I thought that was only on 95+ trucks unless retrofitted.

Had that problem with my 92

Was leaking from the back of the block somewhere. I threw in some of those aluminum flakes. Who cares if it clogs the radiator. That stopped the leak and I haven't had a problem for 5 years.

For what it is worth the industry regonised standard
is from the drivers point of view.

Meaning ,
Left = Drivers
Right = Passenger

Ok,
It has started leaking again. Funny thing is it doesnt always leak. But after driving home last night, I heard a hiss, and saw coolant coming from right underneath the upper heater hose. And its not the hose. Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be?

Just was told by a mechaninc that it is the intake manifold gasket. Given the area that I described the leak, does this sound correct to you all??

That sounds correct. I had the exact same problem (leaking coolant from an unknown source near the top of the engine, sporatic leaking and not leaking, etc.). It was the intake manifold gasket. I let mine go until the leak got so bad it overheated and I warped the head, so I sold the truck and got a new one.

Have you checked to make sure the leaking isn't coming from the waterpump weep hole? More likely than a manifold gasket leak and easier to fix.

Yes i did check that, and it does appear to be the intake manifold gasket. Thanks to everyone who responded. Should be fixed on friday.
