Okay so all I see on this topic is the one on the 1st gens which I knew was a dummy gauge. So I got a quick question, is there anyway to do it on the 2nd gens or am I putting a gauge in. 2000 sohc motor.

dumpy? dump truck? :p kidding. i do believe the 2nd gen had the dummy gauge too, and requires a second gauge, but not too sure.

Oh whoops i meant dummy I know it's a dummy gauge by how I build oil pressure and it jumps to the middle I'll fix the title.

You will need a oil pressure sensor to replace the oil pressure switch that you currently have
you also need a 1997 and before instrument cluster
And then modified it Buy adding a resistor Then your gauge will work like an oil pressure gauge

I think it's 100Ω resistor

Wow that seems complicated. Lol I'll probably just put in an actual gauge

That mod is a actual gauge.
Sorry I meant aftermarket so I don't have to replace my instrument cluster. Lol eventhough it already has. I have a gauge pod ancestored from our 95 that I'll put in and swap out the switch to a sensor and wala lol.

May as well. Then you can add others like trans fluid temp, actual battery voltage, etc

A good it late, but here the comparison. Apparently the swap over year was part way through 97. Here in the diagrams you can see the resistors that are missing from the later versions. I do want to try and complete this in the future so Im posting it here for others. the resistor in question is 115 ohms otherwise identical layout. pin 12 C286 goes to the pressure switch pin 13 C286 is power
