Malfunction of one headlamp...no message ?

Does the Explorer not show a message when one or both headlamps are out of order ?

...my 2004 Rover 75 has a FLT and FET and send me a message "left turn light out of function"...

No it does not. If you check the Owner's Manual under Information Messages you will see that there is nothing to indicate that a bulb is out.

Nope you have to use the MK1 Eye Ball.

Thank you, @Nasty, I hope that mark one eyeball is a gift from the Ford dealers in U.S. !? But unfortunately not in Germany...
