Well I just spent 3 thousand replacing couple of thing on the truck.

Ring and pinion seal, leaking
Steering rack, was leaking
Shocks, were shot and took out the air shocks out of the back.
manifold gaskets.

things I am going to do on my own.

Added shackles in today.
Going to do plugs and wires tomorrow.

hopefully I dont have to waste anymore money on this truck.
2000 Ford explorer eb.
I use it for work and got ladders and tons of stuff in the back.

Next time I wont be buying any fords, thinking of buying the new Titan next.

you got bent over and they didnt use ky!!!!!

$3k is killer for all the stuff they did..... which is barely nothing really.......

its funny how you will never buy a ford again, but how you got ripped off for not shopping around... all vehicles have their issues... so dont be so quick to say the explroer sucks... and guess what, you are using it loaded down with stuff, so anything will break down faster at that point as more stress is involved

Whatever I own a explorer and couple other ford cars, not going to be buying any new fords, they suck

i happen to own a 2000 explorer you know what i have had to "replace" - umm nothing i didnt cause. next to my ford lightning its the best vechile i have owned ( dont ask me what i have broken either on the trail or by my oops)

We occasionally get new members on this board who immediately complain about their Ford vehicle... It is only later that we find out the vehicle had 140K miles on it and was just bought a few months back and now requires extensive work.. (not too surprising).. The point being when you join a automotive board and immediately start bad mouthing its manufacturer before its members get to know you and your vehicle is just wrong :nono: .

BTW the Titan is a fine vehicle. If you so unhappy with your Fords you should sell them, buy the Titan and join the Nissan board.

$3K for that? Geez they saw you coming!
Ring and pinion seal. silicone! (DIY)
steering rack leak-depends on whats leaking (did they replace the whole rack?????)
Rancho rs 9000's around $90 each (DIY) and those are about the best there is.
Intake or exhaust gaskets?

All of those are minor repairs for a vehicle thats a few years old. I don't see a problem at all. Definately ripped off! I would be mad at whoever charged you that much. :fire:
