I actually used a center punch on the very edges of the screw. 2 per screw to keep them from backing out.

What's the EGR and intake tube mod?

BTW, for those interested, I'll be installing u/d pulleys and nitrous hopefully in the next few weeks, then going to the track. Since my last visit to the track (been a long time) with my 15.5 e/t, I've added a bored out throttle body, C&L MAFS, modified my Volant box, will have u/d pulleys, and nitrous. I'll do some n/a runs and some nos runs, but I'm pretty confident I can get into the 14s if I can get traction and don't break my tranny, lol. I'll be at the same track the 15.5 was run, hopefully under more favorable conditions (not in the sun at 12noon in the summer like last time, but hopefully at night with some 60-70 degree air, fingers crossed).

Hey au01st. The EGR mod is just removing most of the tube blocking the intake airflow. Next time you take your TB off, look in the intake. The tube you see is part of the EGR system. Then look at the pic I posted on the previous page. You'll see what I'm talking about.

Good luck at the track! Let us know how it goes.

And those of you interested, there is still no negitive effects from doing this. Just more power. I would compare the gain to when I did the MAF housing. Not much but noticable. However, the biggest gain I felt was still the TB.

Am I gonna cut it or what? Just had my EGR replaced under warranty cause it was throwin a code, so I should have a nice new unit in there.

I think my case my be a little different than yours. If you're still under warranty then I wouldn't suggest doing this. Also, there's no "real" proof that this even does anything other than me thinking that it did. Just an idea I had and decided to try. I might know for sure when I dyno.

Well, I'm still under warranty and I'm about to stick nitrous on, so you can see what I think of Ford's warranty, lol.

have fun, be carefull, you better have a good flasher tune with nitrous.
Been there done that, with less than great results

I'm using the same tuner you use (I think), and he will be helping the install and doing "in car" tuning.

What is "in car" tuning?

He will be providing a rich tune, then he will ride along for some runs til we get it exactly right. I also bought a wideband O2 sensor and gauge, so I'll have accurate readings. MSD RPM window switch will control when the nitrous is activated, and a fuel pressure cut off switch will be installed so if fuel pressure drops to low it will drop the spray. I'm playing it safe with this one, well as safe as nitrous can be, lol. He's run plenty of Focus's with stock internals on 100shots all night long. I'm planning on having a 75shot MAX on my V6, so I'm really not all that worried. Automatic bottle heater with pressure sensor will keep the bottle at the correct pressure, and it will be mounted in the bed. I'll be sure to post plenty of pics of the install when done, as well as some N/A and nitrous time slips.

sounds like you got all dialed in, your trac do's not have HT pistons so you should be good to go with at least a 75 shot.
keep us posted.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Good luck and be safe.

My nitrous is turning off the ac.
