does anyone have a manufacture recommendation on a mass air sensor for a 99 sohc? The only one I have found is the explorer express for $229.
Also I am looking for an intake and top end performance parts. I see apten has one in R&D, are there any others out there?

As far as I know, 2 MAF's are available for you:

1. Ford OEM MAF (available from a Ford dealer)
2. Granatelli/Pro-M MAF (available from EE, and elsewhere)

Buy the MAF after you get all the other bolt ons and chip, it gives you the least gain for the money so you'll wanna do that last.

Actually the maf should be your last bolt on,got mine last week, althogh not 100% neccesary,a chip or flasher can be programed for the larger maf for optimal results.
I am running the new Maf with my apten chip set up pre Maf, the results have been great but my new flasher will be here on friday, the new maf flow curves are programmed into the flasher, my point is do the maf and chip programmed for the maf at the same time

Pro-M makes one if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah Pro-M does have a MAS.
I have one and I like it.
Like Spindlecone said, the results of a MAS are not tremendous, but noticable.
With out question this should be AFTER Chip, exhaust, intake
