2013 Ford Explorer XLT
Here's one I haven't read about yet on this forum. For the fourth time, I got into my 2013 Explorer XLT this morning and found the both door mirrors turned all the way in. I have no idea how this is happening, but it's been going on for about 2 months. They readily re-set by the controls, but I am puzzled as to how they get turned in in the first place.

Anyone else have this going on with their Explorer?

Could be just somebody pushing them in by hand to annoy you!

Sounds like one or two possibilities: 1. Sun Spots 2. If it happens over night in garage : wife trying to drive you crazy or 3. At work, co-worker wanting you out or locked up at the nut farm....

Sun spots are no joke. We are now in a strong "Solar Maximum" (period of high spot & field activity)

We may need sunscreen even at night...

...dont leave yer Tux Black Ex out in the summer sun...it turns into a $50k
BBQ grille...

Does it only happen in the morning in the same location?
If so someone is screwing with you.

I also would like them to close and open automatically.

Next time you park for the night, sit in the car and wait a bit.
If the car is doing it, it should happen shortly after the car is turned off.
It could be as long as 10 minutes, long enough for accessory power to turn off and memory settings to be completed, etc

I dunno if all Explorers have power fold mirrors...

did I miss where you say they were power fold mirrors ?

if you do, is as simple as someone (else) pushing the power fold button ?!? :)

According to the Ford website, power fold mirrors are only available on the Limited.

My Sport has them.
I was wondering how accurate that info on the Ford.com website was. I'm not sure if the OP has power mirrors or not. He did say he could correct the problem with the 'settings'. He has an XLT. I guess it proves that you can't believe everything you read. I just did a compare of the models and did not go into every available package. :)
