First off found some good reads on the transmission whine issue,(ignorantly changed a perfect power steering pump first without listening or reading) took the car in to the dealer since it's cold out for them to change the filter and fluid, they told me I was wasting my money, a bearing was coming out on I should just buy a reman trans. This one has been flushed every 30k since new and is flawless (minus the whine), anyway did the filter and fluid myself today and no more whine, silent again.

Now on to the next problem. I have replaced 2 COSP's, motorcraft OEM #4 last month and today #6 , had misfire codes.
I do not drive this ride but once every few months so I have to go by what my fiance says is going on.
It's had what she called a flutter but is a definate miss. This miss is hardly noticable when the converter is unlocked and it is intermittant(will go away a whole trip at times or just for a few minutes)
With the converter locked in 4th(od locked out) under 2k rpm's the car will buck and jerk at 1/4 throttle, over 2k rpm's it does the same at a hair under half throttle.
If you run the guts out of it, the car won't miss but is still lacking in power, it comes and goes by mashing the throttle and letting out of it and getting on it again a few times.
I have always replaced the plugs (OEM) @30k mile intervals just to not doeal with issues. This set is arounf 24k miles.
Also there is no check engine light, I have also reset the PCM with each repair. Sorry for the long post but I do not want to throw parts at it again.

I'd also like to add, it has a CAI, most times it sounds like its only sucking half the air it should be, other times it soulds like its sucking up the pavement.
It was ran over 6 months with the driver side cat plugged(my lack of caring), and intake was reaplaced 30k miles ago.

bump

Put new wires and still missed, put new plugs in and a throttle position sensor and it downshifts perfect again and miss is gone and gas milage is back up.
