I am researching how to fix it now... but any help would be greatly appreciated. I am missing my drivers side door unlock spring. It broke and is nowhere to be found and the only way to unlock my drivers side door is to pull the handle on the inside. Thanks in advance for any help.

I know how to fix it now... but I don't have a spring to fix it with. Where can I get one?

I don't know about the spring by itself.

Check your local junkyard or classified ads (craigslist, etc). Try to find the whole latch assembly so you can swap it right in. You can probably get it for next to nothing if you find someone with a smashed door they otherwise can't sell.

You might still be able get the latch asy from a dealership too.

Okay, well I went to advance auto parts and bought a spring assortment and fixed the latch with a custom bent spring. Pretty cool if I do say so myself...:salute:
Thanks heyok for this picture!! It really helped

Any spring will work and you don't need a whole crapload of tension. Just a little is enough.

Hey just wondering what exactly that spring is hooked to in the back? ive taken mine apart also to fix the same problem but cant figure it out?

Nice job!

Glad you could fix it so quickly and easily.

My camera won't focus for me to take pictures, but you can use a flashlight and see. Look at your passenger side door and the spring will be attached to a little rod looking thing that goes up and down when you lock/unlock the doors. That needs some tension. It is origionally attached at a different angle, but the one in the picture in this post will work. I will try to get a picture for you. It will be soon.
