Throw some ideas at me folks. Took a 30 mile drive, noticed some lite smoke behind me. When I pull into a parking spot the truck just shut down. Under the hood was a small amount of oil that looked to be blown up on the drivers side manifold and a small puddle on top by the 1st spark plug on the plenum, but mostly dripping from the bottom of the truck. Put in about four qts & drove it home. could not find any leaks, but didn't have a chance to check really good. Gonna start tommorrow tho.

Check the PCV valve and the oil sending unit.

Me thinks it's coming from the valve cover gasket, but found oil in the air inlet tube, is that from the bad pcv valve?

Re-torqued the valve cover bolts, gonna try & clean off the oil. While hitting the throttle I noticed smoke coming out of the dip stick tube. Could the oil have come from there & why is it smoking?

Excessive blow-by being sucked into your air intake via pcv and burned giving you the white smoke out the tailpipe possibly. Are your sparkplugs fouled? Adding 4 quarts of oil meant that you were driving around with only 1 quart in the engine, or you just overfilled it. Overfilling will make them leak.

This is what I know for sure, oil in air-intake & plenum and oil shooting out of dipstick tube. Oil level good & new pcv valve. All ideas are welcome, thanks.
