Modernize a 93 Sport ?!? HELP!!

Please help!!!

I've got a black 93 Explorer Sport that I cannot replace anytime soon.

It's in good condition - a little rust which I can take care of myself.

I can't replace it, but I really need to make this thing a little more 'modern' looking!!! or at least cleaner!!

You can get a 1995+ front end (fenders, grille, hood) like Ricks truck

You could also put on a lift gate from a '95-'97. You would have to change the tail lights too

I'm not sure what a "lift gate" is right now, but I'll find out.
Is that just the back 'door'?...

I'd change lift gates to 95-97 and tail lights, don't just go to the 95-97 front end though, get the 95-97 fender conversion and do the mountaineer front end 2001 like me.

add wheels and tires and a new dash and your set

the front fender conversion can be done with junkyard parts, and so can the mountaineer conversion.

Essentially if you want to do this you'd have to find a 95-97 explorer or mountaineer in a junkyard and take the front fenders, and the rear lift gate. then you'd have to find a 99-01 mountaineer and take the header panel, grille, head lamps, and turn signals, and front bumper (my bumper is my own creation, but just the stock mountie one owuld look good)

you'd have a really cool truck, being that the mountaineer was never available in a 2 door, and it woudl make it look 10 years newer.

sorry, yes the rear lift gate is the rear door. it would allow you to use the newer style tail lights, the square ones on your truck really date it.

Switchin to the newer taillights isn't just a straight swap though is it Expo?? isn't there some fabbing involved?

One question. I'm generally good with tools, but I don't have a welder..
Did you have to make any mods to the explorer or 'make' parts to get the Mountaineer front end to fit?.. I would assume that you would.

And for the lift gate - would you have to cut/weld some metal back there?..
