- 1994 XLT 4WD
Hello all...
I have a 1994 XLT 4.0 4WD that has been a jewel. 2 days ago though, I went to the store no problems..shut it off.. came out.. went down the road..and it wouldnt shift into 2nd...
after feather the pedal, I realized (and have been driving it this way since) if I drive normal, then lift my foot TOTALLY off the gas pedal then right back on.. it gets second.. then to get 3rd, I ride it to it correct RPM where it would normally shift, release the gas pedal and it shifts just fine, OD comes normal, and downshifting is perfect...
IT pulls fine, no slipping at all... There was no warning.. No trannie code from OBD, and no leaking. I changed the Speed Sensor..I was told that was it..but I suspected Modulator.. I checked it for fluid..and it was dry...SO my question is, does there have to be fluid in the modulator for it to be the problem?
ALSO, any tricks to changing that danged thing>?
Thanks..
Glen
