I actually raced a Blazer "extreme" at the track with a 4.3 with cai, and cat back exhaust and it was pretty pathetic. It ran a 16.88 @80mph, needless to say I slaughtered him, that being said he would have beat a similarly modded ohv by at least half a second.

err... I was wrong the blazer I raced was a sport, so an explorer sport would probably be a close match to it.

Wait a sec, i thought the ohv engine was not used past 1997, if his explorer is a 1999, then i think it has to be a sohc engine...as far as ive read atleast.

The OHV motor was used through the 2000 model year.
