Motor Heads interchangeable?

Hello, I have found a 2001 Ford Explorer and I own a 1996 Ford Explorer. The 2001 we found will probably be up for bid soon and the body is excellent. Only 2 small places of rust. The only thing wrong with it is it has a small crack in the head. It still runs but looses about a pint of antifreeze every 3 months. The only thing is I think the 2001 is a SOHC and mines a OHV. I didnt know if the heads were the same. Dad said they probably would be but I didnt think they were.
Me and my dad were wondering if I could take the head off of my 1996 and put it on the 2001?

If they were both OHV, or SOHC...yes. But not from OHV to SOHC or vice-versa
