Motor swap? will the 94 motor go into 96?

just curious is this a possibility do the mounts match up? and any problems with the idea or issues i would run into? i've done motor swaps in VW's but never in a explorer.. i noticed the generation shift ends at 94.. please anyone let me know, thinking about pickin up a parts vehical for the swap. and with wiring harness that may not match up...

Keep in mind that the 91-94 is OBDI/EECIV and the 96 is OBDII. Also, the transmissions are different.

You know, you might want to contact Jamie (Fortune410) on this one. There are some differences in the engines you may want to know about. I think they are physically the same and bolt up fine, but somewhere around 1995, they made some upgrades and changes. There was also a change in the cam position sensor you may or may not need to be aware of. See what Jamie says...or do some searching in threads he's posted in. You should find the information there.
