Motor Wine

Hey guy;s.


I have noticed my truck has a wine to it when im moving from a stop and when i slow down.. its not the power stearing the level is fine on that.. it sounds like the motor. nto shure tho.. anyone have any ideas?

Hey I have the same kinda whine on my '97 V8 Xlt. Someone told me that its probably a transmission whine. Nothing to really worry about I guess. It happens on mine only when moving from a stop and slowing down to a stop also.

I dont think its the tranny.. it might be.. i have 37k on my truck.. never changed the tranny oil.. should i?

sure change the fluid... pm is good....
the whine is probably normal though, automatics have tranny whine as well as sticks... i have driven many explorers and different vehicles, all of them have some degree of tranny whine... some more than others... but it is normal from what i have seen

does it need to be changed? what milage should you change the tranny fluid

i think the first one isn't suppose to happen till 60k.... but if you subject the truck to more than soccer mom off road use, then anytime it is subjected to possible contamination.... after the 60k, i think it is every year.....

Well my truck goes on the beach a lot.. and it took a dunk in the ocean once.. sooooo...

Either never change your tranny fluid or change it once a year/once every 18 months. I'd start a habit of once a year changes from now on.

Mikke aint yours a leased vehicle? do u hafta pay if the trans brakes down then?

yes its a lease.. but im over 36k.. no more warenteeeeeeeeee =P
