Moving the front seats

Greetings! I own a '99 Sport and am interested in moving the drivers seat back a couple of inches to increase leg room. Has anyone here done this with any success?

To move the seats there is usually a lever under the front of the seat that adjusts the seat on a set of tracks. Some of the fancier explorers have power seats and you move a little switch back and the seat moves back on the track


I'm Guessing thats not the answer you want

I want to move the mounting back. There is not enough travel to suit my long legs.
