The cdx-mp70 is a very nice radio. The tray mechanism for the CD works well. My buddy has it in his truck....and even with the stiff suspension, it never skips. I think this may be my next radio as well.

Alpine CDA-7894

I just purchased this head unit off ebay for $315 shipped to my door. That's over $100 savings after tax if I would have got it local at best buy or some place like that.

check it out:

maverick, are you speaking about the flip down pioneer DEH-mp8400p? If so, its an amazing head unit and looks and makes the components sound amazing. the only time it skips is when I nail a huge pot hole or something like that, has to be big to make it skip, other then that I am nothing but happy with the head unit.

thank you all for your opinions, i would gladly accept any input on pros and cons of players. it will prob be around christmas when i'm able to buy a head unit, but i'm trying to get the info now and make sure i make a good decision. i've heard that best buy will match internet prices on computer stuff, does anyone know about audio equipment, or any store that will price match? any suggestions on good online stores, i'm not going to by off of ebay. thank you all

scrolling text

do any of these headunits support scrolling text for the mp3's? i've heard some players don't and it sounds like that would be kinda a pain

My JVC KD-SH99 is a good unit. (You may not even be able to buy it anymore since it's "last year's technology".) My only gripe is that it needs 5-10 minutes to warm up in cold weather before it will play reliably. Otherwise, it sounds and looks good, and I think has a broad selection of features.

I bought all my stuff at www.onlinecarstereo.com. No complaints - orders were shipped accurately & quickly.

Note: looks like you CAN still buy it, but the SH77 is the successor.

thanks
could u guys with the alpine, sony, and pioneer tell me some pro's and con's
they all sound like good players so i'm not sure what to go for yet. i'm still also lookin for the best price
