Muffler ? and help needed

So 2 days after my girl got her Explorer we put a Flowmaster on it. Since the very minuted we drove out of the parking lot she said it was to loud, plus for some reason it makes the entire floor board vibrate.

I think it sounds great and dont want to change it, but since I dont make the payments on it I dont get to make that decision.
She want to put a diffrent muffler on it to make it quiter, only problem is that I dont know who make the quites aftermarket muffler. Can you help me help her?

What Flowmaster did you install? 40 series? The Flowmaster 70 series is a pretty quiet aftermarket muffler.

yeah the 70 series flowmasters thats the quietest one.

You running a tail pipe? Hard to imagine a 40 series being very loud on otherwise stock exhaust.

Its the SOHC 4.0
I think were going to swap out the 40 for the 70 this weeked to see what happens, just not sure if the swap will make that much of a diffrence or not.

I'm pretty sure it will, I have two 40's on my F100 and it is loud as heck.. for that 70 series... that's what i'm looking to get for my 4.6. The 4.0l is another reason why it sounds the way it does.. not bagging on your engine, but there is a huge difference between the sounds of the 4.0 and 4.6 even with the same muffler. Hope that 70 take care of it for you.

i didnt like the 70 series flows when i first bought my sport and since i got the 40 series i love how it sounds now big difference in sound but what do u think of the 70 series. I heard the 70 series is quieter.

And do u got single in dual out or single in and single out or what kind of setup of the flowmaster u got on ur explorer.

i got single in and dual out 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport.
