muffler/exhaust question

I am about to order a new muffler and exhaust tip for my '92 X, but before I do, I wanna make sure I get it right. First, what is the stock diameter of the exhaust? I want to geta 2.5" muffler, but I don't want any problems to arrise when it comes time to intal it. Also, I am getting a Flowmaster 50 SUV series, is this a good choice? Any help would be appreciated.

You will need a 2.25" muffler. The 50 is a good muffler.

I have that muffler too and it has a nice sound. My friends finally warmed up to the mods I have done when I took them for a ride last night. They liked the sound and even noticed the difference in power.
