Hey all,

I'm basically looking to replace my muffler on the Explorer. Its a 1996 5.0 2wd. The cats/other pipes are jsut fine so they are staying put. The Tailpipe is also in great shape. I *may* have hit something and put a hole in the muffler. Sucks too, because this was such a quiet truck. Annyways, might as well make it a bit louder.

It has the flange hookup on nthe front of the muffler (dual pipe) to a single

Does anybody make a direct replacemkent for this that doesnt sound stock? I.E. louder than OEM?

If so, what have you used? I'm not interested in a full cat -back at this point.

How does it sound?

It's not real throaty unless you step on it. Just a mild rumble.

I put a Gibson catback system on mine, $219.00 from Amazon (cheapest place I could find) not annoyingly loud but you know it's not stock. Gasket, curiously, isn't included.
