Muffler recommendations?

What brand/model of muffler do you recommend? My X has almost 130k miles on it and the original exhaust system. It really sucks for power. I have the 5.0 and I know these are only rated at like 215 HP or so but geez. Anyway, I figure with all of those cats and everything rusted up like it is, it would have to help by getting a new exhaust. I plan to retain the primary cats but not the back ones. I don't want one that's too loud but....well....what would you recommend?

Also, there are no emissions inspections where I live so I wonder if I can get by with a single CAT after the "Y".

Loosing the cats and going with a better flowing muffler isn't going to gain you anything but sound.

The restriction is the factory exhaust manifolds.

If you want more power you need torque monster headers, then you can worry about the muffler. And when that time comes here is the 5.0 exhaust thread

I was afraid of that. Real power = real money. There's just no way around it.
