My Turn Signal-Wiper\Washer Arm seems to have an intermittent problem. Left turn dosen't always work and neither does the wash.....I'm wondering if it can be taken apart and cleaned, or is it best just to purchase a whole new multi-switch?

its a common problem- i bet when you try to turn left, you get a buzzing noise, right?
you can usually mick up a new multifunction switch at most auto parts stores.

Its about $50. at the dealer & I'll bet they have them in stock.
I just replaced mine. Not too bad of a job although I did have to remove the dash cover.

fordpartsnetwork.com always has good prices on OEM parts.

I took me only 5 minutes to change...no need to take off the dash or anything. just remoce steering cover..

Thats guys.....sounds like it's definately a change, rather than clean-up!

yeah, I tried taking my apart. Bad idea. the "combination" switch does a lot of stuff; windshield wipers, washer fluid pump, brights, turn signals, and maybe even more on your newer model. All these functions are jammed into a little box with a bunch of springs and different mechanisms. Anyways...

Allready ordered one from Ford online......$45.00!

Thanks guys!

that was accually a recall that was done on my 99 explorer sport. The windsheild wipers would go on and off by itself and sometimes the sprayer for fluid didnt go on unless i hate it the right way. I bought a new one and put it in in 10 mins with the help of my manual and its all good now. Damn ford
