2004 Explorer
My 2004 Explorer Limited is really falling apart. A couple of months ago or so the climate control would not come back on after starting. I can manually turn it on (without turning on lights, etc), but it comes on at 75, no matter what it was on at shut down. Then the tire pressure fault came up on the heads up display. All the tires are propely inflated. The ABS light is on, but that may be the pressure sensor. Now the seat will not move back when exiting. Are all these things related? Or is it just coincidence the my exploder is crashing all at once? I did a search but could not find anything related. Thanks for your input

Just an update on this issue...I replaced the car's battery and eveything came back to life, except the tire pressure sensor fault. I must have a bad sensor, from what I've heard/read that's pretty common. Hope that helps someone in the future.

I have having the same issue with my climate control. I also have a 2004 Limited. No other symptons. I push the automatic button, reset the display to external temperature and adjust the desired temperature and the system works fine. Until recently, when I would get back in the car after it had been turned off, the system remembered all my settings, but now, it randomly has reset or cleared to the off position and I have to reprogram everything. It appears the system lost power and the system memory was cleared. Again, this is random, not every time I turn the car off, and I can not identify any other factors such as how long the car has been off or anything else. Explorer limited with V8 and 37,000 miles. I don't think it is the battery. Any one have any ideas?

If your battery is OEM then it's time to change it. 4-5 years is about the life of any battery. I "thought" my battery was just fine, too. Until my wife was stranded at work because it would not crank. (she was P____D) If you have changed it, check both connections...make sure to remove both pos. and neg. sides, clean the posts and the clamps/contacts of any corrosion.

Good Luck

It was the battery, even though the battery gave me no indication it was going bad. It started with no problemes. After replacing the battery the probleme went away.

I've had similar issues that also turned out to be a weak battery. They really can cause havoc with the electricals on these cars.
