Ok I have several question for other X owners. Just incase it makes a difference its a 95 XLT 2WD
First of all the windsheild, and glass for the whole truck.
Has anyone notice how easy this stuff chips? I mean my front glass looks like a war zone with pits all over the glass. Im not talking hard hits buy huge rocks. tiny ones hit the glass and it does in fact chip it slightly. Never had an issue with any car being this way.
Secondly, this is something that always has happened to me so im not concerend. It hasnt gotten worse at all. But it is a transmission question. When coming to a stop, you can feel it go into first gear. Which is weird because thats the only one you can feel with its shifting down. And you hear a "thunk" noise. Its not loud at all, but compaired to the rest of the gears with no noise its noticeable. Just wondering if this is normal to X's
Third, yes another trans question. Does yours spaze out when doing constant 43/44 mph? Because normaly i turn off OD because it flips out, and doesnt know which gear to go into. Ive had this happen in other cars, but mine goes damn nuts. And if you let it go to long (had a friend driving, didnt know where the OD off button was) you can feel it slam into the gears (the second i felt it slam into gears, i reached from the back and hit the button stoping it). I assume as it shifts it warms up the transmission and as it gets warm the more one can feel it. Like I said, it will shift in and out like 6+ times in a min. Even the new SUV has a spot like this, but it shifts maybe 2 times in a min if that.
Fourth, is the idle. Its always had it, and its not rough at all. And its not really that high idle either. But it goes up and down all the time. The engine rpm during mild days 90 or less will not stay constant. you hear it rev down and up constantly. it goes down maybe 70-100 rpms but it wont hold a constant rpm. It doesnt hit a rough idle, its all smooth, but it does go up and down. But when it gets like 97+ degrees outside and with the engine all toasty its perfect. And it hovers around 1k without anything on, and 900+- with AC on. Now from what i gather thats about 100-200 rpms higher than norm, but acceptable. But this is a gas crunch, so fixing this sould get me a mpg or 2 back
Just trying to get suggestions of what to do. I have several on the plate here. like a idle control valve and all that fun stuff. But I always take second opninons
Feel free to comment on my 4 issues. I know the firth 3 sound like im picky... but I am so why hide it
