When I changed mine I had it in park and it didn't spill too much transmission fluid maybe about 6 Oz so far it's running good, I'm going to add it back but just need the tools to do it.

Bout the same here, didn't lose as much as I thought I might. However, now I can't get the transmission lines back in. I just assumed they would push right in or something.
Yeah they should just snap back on, but when I looked up some radiators required new connectors. On mine there was a catch inside of where the lines connect and it just caught.
