shackles are going on soon
AND
Bodyliftkit.jpg

this is going on as soon as i get the $ for new wheels and tires :)

its a 3 inch body lift so im probably going with some 15x8 wheels and some 33x12.5x15 BFG A/T tires its probably going to eat gas like i eat cookies but its still going to be my DD :P

Looks like a nice Mountaineer to start with. Good plans in the making already

minor update

Just a little update. i removed the mudflaps (and had a little fun) definitely looks better with no flaps

BTW thanks glen :) and i decided im going to go with 32x11.5x15 tires instead ANY one know of any good tires that dont cost an arm and a leg?? id prefer A/T over M/T but im not gonna be picky.

Honestly 99% of the time 32's cost the same and sometimes more of the same type of 33" and once you get the 32 on you're going to wish you went with 33's you would like them better :) just a suggestion....The maxxis bighorn 33 at my local 4X4 shop can be had for eight hundred something shipped to their shop, its a good tire too.

32x11.50's are pricey, and few options. Probably better with 33's. I kept my stock 16" rims and run the metric equivalent of a 32x10.50.... I think with the 3" body lift you will want the 33's.

Most people tend to say the BFG A/T is the best AT tire. Personally I hated them. They sucked in the rain, rode terrible, and wore like trash. Most everyone gives them great reviews, maybe I had a bad set, not sure. I wanted to try the hankook dynapro atm, they got great reviews.

I went with firestone destination A/T. I'd recommend them if you do a lot of road driving as they grip and ride nice, and also perform great in snow and pretty good off-road. They are not all the aggressive compared to some A/Ts but are rated great on tirerack. I want to go more aggressive next time though. I picked up my 265/75/16s for 110 a piece. I got maybe 30k out of my stock size but i over inflated and didn't rotate much so that was my fault.

I guess I should also mention Pepboys A/T's they wear good, and put alot of them on when I worked there, my dad has a set on his 1500 and have alot of miles on them.

only thing im worried about if i go with 33s is having to trim the body. im trying to stay away from doing that. basically i want everything i do to be removable/reversible just in case.

and minor update:
ripped out the CB, speaker broke and i got tired of seeing that ugly antenna :P
and shackles and TT coming up maybe Wednesday or Thursday

nice mounty

Shocks and shackles

Got the ranchos put on and I put on the shackles yesterday. Woulda taken about 30 minutes but the last bolt didn't want to come undone. 2.5 hours, 1 can of liquid wrench and a pipe wrench later I finally got it. I'll put in pics later today there's a few in my photobucket now if anyone wants to see

a few pics. more later

ok quick question i want to make my truck a little louder but i dont want to completely re-do my exhaust so can anyone tell me any way to up the volume for cheap?? if there's no good way to do this just say so

You can just get a new muffler and clamp it in. Also there is a resonator behind the muffler. You could remove it and just redo the tail pipe, that may give you a tad more volume, but not much at all i bet.

Okay. Thanks for the response. I'll take a look and decide what I want to do when it warms up a little.

what should i do next?

okay so im torn. what should i do next: MAC intake OR completely re do my sound system? i am going to do the sound eventually but im wondering if the intake will make a noticeable difference?

Swiss cheesed my air box today

Title says it. Took it around the block noticed a slight performance increase and a sound difference.
sorry for crappy pics

my buddy sandblasted them and repainted them hes working on another set for me if anyone is interested.

I like your antenna mounts, they look very familiar in design;)
I love the look of dual antennas. Are you going run both antennas, or just one? I have both hooked up but I only get a mile of range, I have 3' antennas. I've been wanting to have the cb shop tune them. Just unhook the antennas if you go on any narrow trails, you dont want to break them. Ive bent my brackets at 45 degree angles a few times, just grab the antenna the straighten it out.

I've been hunting for a set of f150 hooks, good mod. Are you offering a set of those, or antenna mounts?
