It is with a heavy heart that I come here today to tell you guys that my beloved 1996 Aerostar is giving up on me. I was toying with the idea of selling it just recently and today, the final straw broke the camels back: It blew a head gasket.

Normally, I'd fix it and continue to drive/love it, but with all of the other issues it has (bad tires, bad brakes, no power steering, no A/C, inoperable slider and on and on), I simply cannot justify the money to fix it. It's time to move on.

*EDIT* I sold it just now for $400 to a guy off of craigslist. Hope he fixes it rather than scraps it (says he plans to fix it).

Thanks for all your help guys, it's been fun.

John

No on both questions. Last night I bought a 1995 Ford Taurus sedan. I would've considered another Aerostar but the only ones in my price range were worse off than the one I sold.

I didn't mention the website to the guy because I simply didn't think of it.

I miss my van terribly, I knew I would. Maybe someday another Aerostar will cross my path. That '96 wasn't my first, and it may not end up being my last. For now, though, I'm happy with the Taurus. Always loved this body-style and it has my favorite engine, the good old 3.0L Vulcan. It has some issues but nothing too bad considering the money I paid for it (very, very little).

Good luck to you all,
John
