2000 Explorer XLT
I recently picked up a 2000 XLT and I noticed the rear tire on the passenger's side was sticking out about 1" farther then the drivers side. I took it to an alignment shop to see if they could figure out what was wrong.

They brought me into the shop while the truck up on a lift and showed me the body was mounted onto the frame slightly crooked. The front is correct but the rear is off by about 1/2". The wheels and suspension all line up fine, no damage to the body or frame.

Does anyone know, if I loosen all 10 body mount bolts, can I slide the entire body so that it's centered? Do the body mounts have room for adjustments?

Thanks.

Anyone??? Am I nuts for thinking this can be done?

My 94' does the same thing. I know of at least one 99' that has that issue. It was within Ford specifications when produced. Don't worry about it. I did not notice it until I did a solid axle swap and was trying to set the front axle's track bar length.

Id loosen all but right front then push it over. That way front stays lined up.

That's what was thinking, but I didn't know if there would be any room for movement. Do you know, are the holes slotted in the body or frame?

Anyone who's done a body lift know if there is room for adjustments?

Perfect post, thanks for the link.
