Kind of a weird problem I've got here.
Yesterday I went on a short 60 mile (one way) road trip with 4 people in the Exploder. Halfway on the way up, I floored it to pass a van going at the speed of smell. The tach hit about 6k.

Shortly after, my fan started going along with my acceleration. To kind of explain this better: You know that sound when the car is first started and then driven, how you can hear the fan until it eventually shuts off. Well, it won't shut off.

In fact, the only time it does shut off is when i'm at a cruising speed where the engine has no chance of acceleration without downshifting. IE 5th gear.

I tried parking it until it cooled then ran it again. No luck.

It doesn't seem to be harming my performance, but it's certainly out of the ordinary and definitely loud and annoying.

Any takes on this? I'm guessing a sensor may have blown.

Definately the clutch on the fan. Easy fix, any auto parts store should have one.
There are two types, one is RPM based, the other is temperature.
Stick with the temperature based clutch, it only engauges when things heat up under the hood. Thats how it would come from Ford.
