Excuse while I blow some smoke out of my A$$. I f***ing hate people. Straight up piss me off. The shop that my truck is at while we were installing my dana 44, atlas II, and brand new tranny was broke into last night. Son of a Bit**!! I'm so mad right now. Thats a total of almost $8,000 down the damn drain. I just wanna somebody. Jesus can somebody please tell me what to do. The cops know about it and my lawyer knows about but is there anything I can do? HELP!!! Well I hope you all have a nice weekend and I hope I didn't offend anyone with my words. I'm really really mad right now. Oh well back to the IFS. Damn it!!!

Uhm, was it a commercial shop?

Did they have insurance? Do you have any insurance? Vehicle? Household?

I'd consider suing them. Esp. if nothing else taken.

My insurance said they would replace my tranny and a stock transfer case. I ok'd the tranny but not the transfer case. It was a friends shop and he had stuff stolen too. I lost my dana 44, atlas II ,tranny and 2 custom drivelines. He lost a set of brand new 44" TSLs, the rollers that were bolted to my dana 44, and A bunch of fuel injection parts for his toyota. We've totaled it up and a total of $13,000 in parts and damage was done. A$$HOLES!!! I'm not sure but they seemed to know everything and how to get it. The garage door (the only door) is locked with 3 different locks. All 3 are gone now and no finger prints or anything. The truck goes in monday for the tranny and we have already started putting the IFS back in.
This is with out a doubt the worst time of my life.

That's why I told myself I'd never live in Idaho....I have driven thru there 6 time and 4 of the 6 I had gas stolen out of my vehicle.

It is too bad about your parts. If the guy had insurance on his shop he should get paid. If he wasn't your friend I would suspect him.

Keep an eye out for someone selling the atlas II. I would guess that one that is made for the Explorer would be hard to get rid of. Also call the shops in the area so they can keep an eye out to see if anyone has tried to unload/ have one installed

If that's not proof of an inside job then my grandmother is a virgin. If he's really your "friend" then he needs to check out his "friends".

Thats the bad part, only 12 people knew about it and none of them don't even have a need for any of it. All 4x4 shops and anything like that have been put on notice to whatch out for these items. My friend is fighting with his insurance about it all. They say they need proof that it was locked. We can't prove it cause the locks that were on there are gone know. By the way HIX let me know the next time your coming through, we'll go out and do something. The IFS is back in. God this sucks. I'm praying that these items are found soon, I HOPE!!!

Atlas II for an Explorer is pretty darn rare, isn't it? Chances are the theif(s) didn't realize it was such a specific application. Do you have the serial # off it?

I'd post a "WTB: Atlas II for Explorer" in all your local 4x4 shops and not even mention the theft. Then, compare serial #s and you've got your theif.

UPDATE!!!!


My friends tires, my 2 drivelines, and my tranny have been recovered. The thief was a guy that lived a couple of blocks away from the shop. He won't say were the rest of it is or if he still has it. I even had to spend the night in jail. The cops called me at work and asked if I could go to this house to ID these items and I said sure no prob. I got there and sure enough that was my sh*t sittin there. They were bringing the guy out of his house and he made a smart a$$ remark and I blew my temper and knocked his punk a$$ right to the ground. Broke his nose!! Serves the a**hole right!! He tried to press charges but the cops said he provoked it. No sign of the axle or the atlas II. I've just bought another dana 44 from a guy in Boulder CO so the project will resume soon.

Drug habit gone overboard! It's the same story they want it and didn't care who they hurt to get it. I know it's only a material thing but these guys test our faith! Just don't let us catch em' in the act. GOD forbid! BTW, HIX the locals saw your plates that's why they stole your gas. Just kidding! We are all in this c--p together!
