well, since im mostly done with project "ugly, smelly bronc", i figured id do a thread about it. ive had it for about 4 years now. did a 351W swap, James Duff long travel suspension with extended tubular arms, 4:56's with spool in rear and Detriot EZ locker in front, front disc swap, cage, and some fender trimming. just had the driveshafts built a few weeks ago.

here it is the day i purchased it at the guys cabin...

wow.. that is some flex there.. looks like a fun truck to play with.. too clean though

that's awesome james! i really want one of those one day. i'm always on the look out for one cheap to somewhat build up. but my wife doesn't seem too fond of the idea yet.

That one is the best pic.

Anyway, I'm impressed. I've always wanted to take an old 4x4 and build it up. That looks good!

now all really need is some tires. the Cooper STT's work good on the trail, but they absolutely suck in the mud. sooner or later, ill have 35x15.50 SX Swampers on it.

Bronco looks awesome

Find some way to put the wheels and tires off your X on it..now that would be one funny picture

no other projects, just it and the X. also have the wife's POS MR2, but no projects planned for it. if i had my way, i would like to modify it with 5 gallons of diesel and a match. ;)

Very cool. You have some nice toys :chug:

I don't believe you James..........PROVE IT!!:D

The Rig Is BadAss!! Congrats!!

btw: is the tire carrier supposed to be at that angle?

Looks nice- how was the 351 swap? I just picked up a 351 that I want to stroke and swap in for the 302 sometime.

I'll get some pics of the '74 I built on here soon.

Nice truck-----

You did what i am planning to do. I've been looking for an early bronco to fix up myself. I drive all day (cable company) and am always on the prowl for an old beast to fix up. Last week i found 2 old bronco's and an 87 landcruiser. I know the cruiser is for sale. One bronco i asked the guy about and it's his friend who is in the army. The 2nd I will stop and ask about soon. Your truck is bad-ass

 WOW thats nice looking James.......... now u need to jack up the X;)

jstu kidding

its pretty good u have a streeter and an offroader
=)

i might turn a 85' s-10 into a streeter one day its sitting in my uncles shop jstu needs a motor

PEACE

Robb- the bumper got "moved" downward the last time i was at Barnwell Mt. there is a trail there called Houston Creek, and the last climb out has a rather tall 90 degree solid rock ledge. the spare kept me from testing the cage. i'll re-align it sooner or later.

and BTW, i could borrow pop's diesel anytime and haul it to Va. and "prove it". :D

Really, I've heard that alot of people get good results with that mod, make sure you do a write-up if you decide to go through with it. ;)

Barnwell Mountains, as in Gilmer TX? If so, let me know the next time you are headed out that way so we can do some wheelin'

Good looking truck. Your paint job is much better than the old one.
